This site
is all about making
money. People who come here
are interested in making money,
right?
I have a lot of
experience in that area. I’ve made a lot
of money, lost a lot of money, that’s the
way it goes in business. I’m not sure if
I learned more from the experience of
making the money or the experience of
losing the money. That is an interesting
question I will answer latter on the
site.

?
Did he actually say,
prepared to battle? Yes I did ! What else
do you expect me to say. It’s a jungle
out there and if you either want to get
into your own business or you already
are, either way, if you expect to
survive, you have to come prepared. In

the world is in its worse financial
crisis, ever, some say worse than the
depression/ depressions of the 30”s. The
climate today just made your job of
getting/ staying in business even
tougher. The competition is even fiercer,
fewer dollars out there, fewer customers
for whatever product you have for sale.
People are scared to spend what ever few
dollars they may have available. It’s a
tough environment to enter into,
especially if you are a
newbie.
Now is the
time to get your head around the
challenges ahead of you and to be in the
right frame of
mind. I have the same
message on all my other sites. I present
a certain perspective on all of the
topics I cover. Based on what I have
experienced and what I have been
pontificating on for some 35 plus years,
I believe my point of view is the correct
one. Now is not the time for modesty. Its
important that as you cruise this site as
well as our others, that you come to a
comfortable place. In your own mind. That
comfortable place is a
meeting of the
minds, my mind, such as it
is, and your mind. You have to feel
comfortable with what I say here, and how
I say it. Without this meeting of the
minds, what I say here will have little
or now value to you. That is the reason
we are here, to be of value to
you.
In
business, the
reference
to war,
doing battle, defeating the enemy, the
Art of War, Marketing
Warfare, the industry is rife
with references connecting war and
business. I didn’t invent the connection
but I certainly am a devotee of it. This
site will be filled with these
references. There pertinent and are very
helpful in getting salient points across.

Lets Lock and
Rock
Each
discipline that I deal with has its own “
flavour “. This page will have its own as
well. This site will be fun and it’s a
place that I let lose more than normal.
The topic is serious but it’s a place
that you need a little levity or you just
go crazy. The term “
lets lock
and rock
“ I believe
came from a movie I saw, can’t remember
which one, so it is a stolen reference. I
like it and it suits this topic, business
and making
money.
In Time
Management we talk
about TM being a journey , not a
destination, with getting into your own
business, it’s a little
different.
There is a
definite start point, you open a store,
start up the machinery or open a web
page, you can easily identify a start
point. Unless you are starting a business
for other reasons than making money, you
will also know when you have reached that
point in your business
cycle. When things are going
well you know it, when things are not
going well, you really know that. With a
business, regardless of how long it is in
existence, there will always be a
definable end. You sell it, you lose it,
it goes bankrupt, you pass on the reins,
you retire, you will always remember the
ending to a business you owned and
built.
The point
is, there are definable peaks and valleys
in every
business.
Whether its a peak you are rising to , or
a valley you are trying to get out of, in
business you have to keep plough on. The
term lets rock and lock refers to keeping
up the momentum, keep driving forward,
keep the motivation and commitment turned
on. It’s a term I use in my own
businesses, work with in the seminars and
use on this site. It is as much as a call
to action as it is a state of
mind.
